
Typographical combinations are delicate. The excess of different fonts can break the identity reference. However, a single typeface with few variations can become monotonous. One again, it's the content which will direct these choices.
Triple Canopy magazine, for example, uses a sans serif font for title. The same font in a smaller size is used for the name of the author, and a serif font for body text. To use just one typeface and make no mistakes DASartes magazine employed variations, such as resizing and inserting a black background. In both cases, the typographyc variations are balanced and in sufficient quantity.
#3 Balance
In this case, it was used two fonts for three hierarchical levels. Other factors such as location and alignment also added emphasis to the first level of importance.

The same typeface is used for four different hyerarchy levels, using resources such as size and color.
