Easy navigation is a basic requirement. Keep a place on your grid where the user can have constant access to the menu, regardless the position you are on the page. Think also about propoer back navigation. It is important to easily know where we are and how to get back where we came from.
For example, in DASartes magazine there isn't a way to access the menu without having to scroll the whole page to the top. The Zupi magazine applied a simplified menu that is fixed and appears independent of the position where the user is on the page. Triple Canopy magazine adopted as an alternative a fixed hamburguer menu.
#4º Be simple
When the user is on a page like this, he is forced to scroll all the way to the top in order to have access to navigation. Depending on the page extension, this can be a tiresome task.
The advantage of keeping a fixed menu is that regardless the size of the page, the user will always have the reference of which site he is on.
Adopting a hamburguer menu can be a favorable to the layout because it leaves more space to prioritize content.
