#8 Be responsive
No excuses, your website needs to be responsive. It means that it has to be designed to work across devices. Nobody likes to open a website on a phone and having to zoom in to be able to read anything. The grid needs to adapt according to the screen size.
For example, the Select magazine doesn't provide a mobile version. It means that you have to zoom in to either expand the visualization, and stay rolling the image both in horizontal and vertical axis. Reading is also a problem once the text does not appear entire on the screen, and the font size isn't quite readable. As the opposite, the DASartes presents responsive design, adjusting the grid, and resizing the images and the text in order to make mobile navigation easier.
Do not providing a responsive design is a problem because it directly affects important matter such as navigation and ligibility.
Once the website's structure changes its appearance does as well. For example, now the menu is in cascade mode and the grid is in a sigle column.
